Opening Your Heart to Bhutan are proud to support the Blind Music Training Centre of Bhutan - a wonderful initiative originally set up by a group of visually impaired people in 2013, under the Disabled Persons Association of Bhutan. The objective of the centre is to benefit disabled young people who may have difficulty accessing education and employment, by providing musical training and sourcing employment opportunities within the field of music for the graduates.
OYHTB are supporting the centre by providing rent for the centre accommodation, allowing those from poor backgrounds to board at the centre while they undertake their training. We have also provided financial support for one of the wonderful teachers at the centre - Mr Tashi Wangchuck - as well as funding the provision of many beautiful musical instruments including yangchen, flutes and dramngyen.
