Fabric bags handwoven by children at the Drat-sko vocational school in Tashigang will be sold at a pop up charity event being run by the Umbrella Cafe on the 5th February. The bags will be sold between 10am and 12 noon with all proceeds going to the charity Opening Your Heart to Bhutan.
Jo Verney, partner at the Umbrella Cafe said "These beautiful bags are bound to be the must have fashion accessory in town and are doing a wonderful thing for the weavers and their communities."
The venture is the latest in a series of events run by the charity at the Whitstable Umbrella Centre. The Umbrella Cafe hosted a fundraising event for the charity in the summer of 2016 raising over £400 for Emma's work in Bhutan. She is also running a talk at the Umbrella Centre on the 21st January entitled Buddism: Philosophy, Religion or Common Sense.
